Unveiling the 2023 Audi Q8 e-tron 50: A Game-Changer in Electric SUVs

As the automotive world embraces electrification, Audi takes a bold step by integrating electric models into its mainstream lineup. Renaming their pioneering electric car marks Audi's commitment to leading the charge in electric vehicles. The Q8 e-tron offers more than just a rebranded identity.

Audi is revolutionizing its nomenclature, marking electric vehicles with even-numbered model designations. Locally, the revamped e-tron SUV becomes the trailblazer for this new naming strategy.

What's New? The exterior alterations are more than just visual upgrades; they optimize aerodynamics. The sleeker fascia significantly enhances aerodynamic efficiency, reducing drag coefficients to 0.24 and 0.27 for the Q8 Sportback e-tron and Q8 e-tron, respectively.

Innovative wheel spoilers and a self-sealing system contribute to superior aerodynamics. This system, comprising a rubber lip and plastic element, ensures airtight closure, eliminating leaks and pressure losses.

Under the hood, the Q8 e-tron boasts advanced battery and motor technology, elevating its range far beyond its predecessors. Featuring a 95 kWh battery pack, a substantial 24 kWh increase from the outgoing model, these new e-trons facilitate faster DC charging at 150 kW, offering remarkable ranges of 491 to 505 kilometers for the SUV and Sportback variants, respectively—significantly surpassing the previous models' ranges of 328 to 347 kilometers.

Driving Dynamics: The driving experience mirrors the original e-tron SUVs, but with noticeable improvements. Enhanced throttle response and torque generation from the new motors elevate the driving engagement. Minor adjustments in steering and the ESC system enhance agility and confidence on the road.

Availability: As of July 17th, the new Audi Q8 e-tron and Sportback e-tron are available for purchase at the Audi Centre Singapore. Prices start from $436,708 for the Q8 e-tron and $455,228 for the Sportback variant.
