Of the 22 new cars unveiled, a significant shift towards sustainability was evident, with 15 being electric vehicles (EVs). This surge of interest in EVs prompted numerous inquiries from attendees, particularly about standout models like the MINI Concept Aceman, the new BMW X2, and three top picks from our perspective.
Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG, the electrified version of the rugged G-class, retains its off-road prowess and iconic design. Featuring a 2-speed gearbox, the Concept EQG promises uncompromised performance, with upcoming tests on the challenging Schöckl mountain track. Mercedes-Benz Singapore's CEO, Claudius Steinhoff, expressed excitement about the Concept EQG, emphasizing the brand's commitment to electrification.
Audi also made waves with the Q4 Sportback e-tron, representing Audi's foray into the electric compact segment. Scheduled for a 2024 market introduction in Singapore, this model offers an affordable yet high-performance EV option. With a range of up to 544 kilometers and dynamic features, the Q4 Sportback e-tron stands out in the electric vehicle landscape.
Polestar stole the spotlight with its Electric Roadster Concept, an embodiment of the brand's vision for future sports cars. This exclusive concept vehicle introduces novel sustainability measures, including a thermoplastic mono-material interior. Transitioning from concept to reality, the Polestar 6 is set for a global launch in 2026, featuring unique design elements and a commitment to sustainability.
